Maverick's - Half Moon Bay, 12/7/15
Maverick's been called the heaviest wave in the world. After seeing it break on an immense West angled swell during the 2015 el nino, it is no wonder why it lives up to all the hype. 20 feet @ 20 second were the numbers on the buoys and the most famous big wave riders in the world were there, and charging! This swell arrived on the CA coast the day after the now legendary Pe'ahi Paddle Contest was held, a swell where big wave world champion Greg Long said e caught "the biggest barrel of his life".
